COMPOSITION:
Each 5 ml Contains:
Quinine Sulfate BP……100 mg
Flavoured Syrup Base……...q.s
Colour: Sunset Yellow FCF
INDICATION:
DEVQ L is indicated in malaria caused by P. vivax, P. falciparum, P. malariae, & P. ovale. It is also indicated when complication like Cerebral Malaria, Acute Renal Failure, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome severe anaemia etc. arise due to Falciparum malaria.
OSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Adults: 600 mg given 8 hourly for 7 days
Children: 10 mg/kg body weight given 8 hourly for 7 days
WARNING AND PRECAUTION:
· DEVQ L should be used with caution in patients with cardiac disorder.
· Exceeding the prescribed dose of quinine may give rise to cinchonism.
· Reduce the dosage (or increase intervals between doses) in renal or hepatic disease.
